SHAPE: Half ancient cities of the Western-Eastern greek alphabet groups used L figure (as in the chalcidian alphabet used in Magna Graecia colonies in southern Italy) and the other half a shape close to Γ. The Ionian and Corinthian (from the city of Corinthos) alphabets used a shape close to Γ (its upper antenna stretched a bit downwards). It later took the form Λ.
