Hermes by Praxiteles
EPMHΣ, the masterpiece by Praxiteles is here!!! He is thought to be an original of the great sculptor c.330 a.e.v. The writer Pausanias says that he is depicted carrying the infant Dionyssos. Made of the famous marble from the island of Paros, he is 2,10m in height. I had seen his photo a thousand times, but when I first saw him in the flesh (or should I say in the marble) I could not leave the museum.

CYPRUSKYΠPOΣ: Cyprus is a country different from Greece. But in terms of civilisation there is no difference between the greek cypriots and other greeks. The island includes the turkish cypriots at the northern part, who were a group islamized during the ottoman times. The story of the island's splitting is sad. But all cypriots are very proud of their past history, their special traditions and culture.
